Monaghan Group Embraces State-Wide Presenting Sponsorship for Business Journal’s CFO of the Year Award
Charlotte-based accounting services firm supports CFO of the Year inaugural events
CHARLOTTE, NC, August 24, 2009 – Monaghan Group is pleased to announce its involvement in the Business Journal’s CFO of the Year Awards as the first and only state-wide sponsor of the three events. “When I started Monaghan Group 13 years ago in Charlotte, and when I opened offices in the Triangle and Triad, each community embraced us and engaged us. The CFO events have been a way to thank these communities and especially our clients … the CFOs,” explained Beth Monaghan, CEO and Founder of Monaghan Group.
The Business Journal hosted three separate CFO events in North Carolina. Kevin Pitts, publisher of the Charlotte Business Journal, commented “the CFO of the Year program celebrates financial professionals in the Charlotte, Triangle and Triad regions for outstanding performance in their roles as corporate financial stewards. Traditionally, the CEOs get the glory, while, too often, the chief financial officers go unnoticed as they rescue their company from certain financial doom. And they are clearly being put to the test this year.”
Monaghan Group, a customized interim accounting services firm, engages experienced CPAs and accounting professionals to provide strategic accounting consultation, research, planning and implementation services. These high level accounting resource solutions are shaped to fit our clients’ needs, whether they be interim, fractional or project-based. With our backgrounds in public accounting and roles as CFO/Controllers in industry, we have had the pleasure of working with many CFOs throughout the Carolinas, including many of the nominees of the CFO awards.
As a North Carolina-based company, Monaghan Group chose to sponsor this event on a state-wide level because “I believe that being a CFO is hard, being a good CFO is really hard, and nothing has happened this past year to make their job easier. I felt like it was time to celebrate their accomplishments. In fact, it was past time,” says Monaghan.
“With an economy continuing to shrink, corporate layoffs and unemployment mounting, it was a daunting task to find sponsors and a heartfelt thank you goes to the Monaghan Group for being the first to support a celebration we can all feel good about. As a state sponsor of all three programs, they stepped up in a big way to bring this program to life, “said Pitts.
