Monaghan Group Presents Ethics Course

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 3, 2011 – Monaghan Group is presenting the ethics in accounting course required for annual license renewal by the N.C. Board of Certified Public Accountants for some of the state’s leading businesses and nonprofits. Among the participants are CPAs employed by Bank of America, Snyder’s-Lance, Family Dollar, Belk, the United Way of the Central Carolinas and Sisters of Mercy South Central Community.

“The ethics course is required for North Carolina CPAs on an annual basis,” commented Beth Monaghan, a CPA and founder and CEO of Monaghan Group. “By presenting the course, we are helping many of our valued business partners fulfill a requirement while enjoying the company of their colleagues and our consultants.”

Monaghan Group consultant Robert Monaghan teaches accounting at UNC Charlotte and has been approved by the N.C. Board of Certified Public Accountants to lead courses in ethics. He will teach the two-hour class examining the CPA’s role in the modern economy, standards of ethical conduct for management accountants, the four basic concepts of ethics in accounting and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA’s) rules on independence. The course also covers the ten most common violations of North Carolina statutes and rules for CPAs.
